Warsaw Montessori High School

All WMHS Summer Schools can last either 3 or 5 days depending on number of students and needs identified. All WMHS Summer Schools take place at the school premises.

• 3-day WMHS Summer School costs 1.800 PLN – June, 24th – 26th

• 5-day WMHS Summer School costs 3.000 PLN – June, 24th – 26th

The price includes also breakfast and lunch.

Summer School courses are dedicated for new WMHS students and or students starting education in other IB high schools.

1. Introduction do International High School

• 3-day or 5-day (recommended) intensive course based in WMHS in Warsaw – the length of the course depends on the number of students and needs identified (tailor-made course).

• Workshops dedicated to developing basic skills necessary in high school following international curriculum (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme – IBDP).

• Content: academic writing; critical thinking; research skills (desktop research), verifying and referencing sources, inquiry-based learning (one day project), presentation skills, self-expression creative writing and/or visual arts), mindfulness (breathing practices).

2. Mathematics Reloaded

• 3-day or 5-day intensive course based in WMHS in Warsaw – the length of the course depends on the number of students and needs identified (tailor-made course)
• Content: revision of mathematics covered in 8^th grade of primary school and preparation for PreIB Mathematics and/or PreIB Extended Mathematics

3. Polish Your English

• 3-day or 5-day intensive course based in WMHS in Warsaw – the length of the course depends on the number of students and needs identified (tailor-made course).

• Content: intense English course including grammar, vocabulary and communication skills, listening, reading and writing comprehension; emphasis put on writing and communication skills.

Summer School course is dedicated fo WMHS students graduating from PreIB1 and students from other IB high school

Future is Now: what is the best fit for me and what and where could I study?

• 3-day intensive workshops based in WMHS in Warsaw dedicated to future choices of IBDP subjects and potential academic pathways.

• Content: getting to know IBDP subjects and their requirements; deploying an insight into individual interests, plans, and hobbies; developing a strategy on selecting IBDP subjects leading to university applications.

WMHS Summer School course for WMHS students graduating from PreIB2

Higher Level Awaits and Awakens

• 3-day or 5-day intensive workshops based in WMHS in Warsaw dedicated to obtaining knowledge and skills necessary to be accepted to one of the HL subjects (Language B, one of Group 3 or Group 4 subjects, Mathematics).

The course is especially dedicated to students graduating from PreIB2 conditionally accepted to HL subjects in IBDP.

University Hunt and Applications: what and where could I study and how to get there?

• 3-day intensive workshops based in WMHS in Warsaw dedicated to future university choices and university applications – extension of school-based workshops.

• Content: deploying an insight into individual interests, plans, and hobbies; developing a strategy on university applications; developing skills related to: making plans for IB1/IB2 summer, preparing CV, writing motivational letter, developing university application, getting ready for an interview.

Possibility of organizing individual consultations afterwards – extra fees apply.

No Time to Lose

• 3-day or 5-day intensive workshops based in WMHS in Warsaw dedicated to improving performance in subjects with failing predicted grades.  

• Content: revising material, practicing skills, practicing past papers, inquiry-based learning – individual research for Internal Assessment.

WMHS Summer School for WMHS students graduating from IB1 and for students from other IB schools

Extended Essay Intensified

• 3-day intensive workshop based in WMHS in Warsaw dedicated to developing Extended Essay (EE) and writing complete EE First Draft. Working side by side with EE supervisors.

• Content: researching for EE, learning theoretical background and working with essential academic texts, structuring the EE, organizing the data and information, writing up preliminary version of the EE, getting feedback from a supervisor and reflecting on the text, editing the text as well as proper formatting and referencing.
