The exhibition of the world-famous sculptor Anish Kapoor
The students of WMHS with Mrs. Agnieszka Gajewska, director of WMHS , Ewa Stawecka, coordinator of IBDP and Mr. Michał Czaja, teacher of Polish literature at IBDP, saw the exhibition of the world-famous sculptor Anish Kapoor (1954) – British artist of Indian origin.
Kapoor is known for using various materials, ranging from granite, onyx, calcium and colored pigments. The artist in his works shown in Orońsko refers to the ephemerality of our life, biomorphic forms, treating human matter in the same way as plant matter. He is delighted with the material: marble and onyx, some of the sculptures are polished, and the rest are completely raw, where you can see the work of a chisel, hammer or machine. The viewer sees a form born from a solid, convex, concave, a cone, an even plane, planes resembling the auricles of the ear, mouth, holes in the body. ‘A presentation of sculptures in Orońsko is an event of the artistic season, it is worth coming back there to meditate on some of them and look for the meaning suggested by color, plane, form, and the search for identity “- commented a student of class 4, Staś Opawski.
